Gold rush in space: NASA will launch a mission to the golden asteroid
NASA is about to launch a mission to explore an asteroid made entirely of gold. The value of the asteroid is estimated at 10 thousand quadrillion dollars, which is several times more than the entire economy of the Earth, according to the BBC.

The U.S. space agency said that the asteroid Psyche-16 is composed mainly of metals such as gold, platinum, iron, and nickel. The value of this asteroid is so high that everyone on Earth could become a billionaire.

The asteroid, which is 226 km wide, most likely represents the exposed iron-nickel core of an ancient planet. This ancient planet was one of the building blocks of the solar system.

The spacecraft is expected to be launched to the asteroid orbiting the sun in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter to take samples and verify all data. Approximate date of departure: October 10, 2023. Thus, the spacecraft will arrive at the asteroid by August 2029.
